The player plays an adventurous Arab prince who must rescue a princess trapped in her castle.
During his mission, he will sail the seas, crawl into caves and fly on magic carpets to reach the guarded castle.
Each level goal is to collect all jars marked with a letter. The collected letters make up the word ARABIAN (or different words in the Famicom and NES versions such as HORSE). Prince can walk, jump, climb, crawl and kick enemies.
