Roundhouse Studios was created in 2019 when Bethesda hired most of the staff from Human Head Studios after they suddenly shutdown. This happened a day after the release of Rune II creating some legal trouble with the publisher Ragnarok Game. The new studio was created at the same location on the same day as the closure. They had been working on an unannounced project for a few years and helped Arkane with the development of Redfall. In May 7th, 2024 it was announced the studio would be merged with ZeniMax Online as part of a repriotitization strategy with Bethesda and ZeniMax.
